Neolith Calatorao takes inspiration from the Calatorao Stone, an early cretaceous black limestone from Calatorao town in Zaragoza, Spain. Its super crystalline structure and distinct colours offer elegant black honed marble, lending to the ‘Calatorao marble’ and ‘Habana Dark’ alternative names.
The first recorded structures comprising Calatorao material extend back to the Muslim empire. However, it seems that the Romans were using the quarries previously. - Neolith doesn't recommend applying waxes, oily soaps, impregnating agents, or other treatments (hydro-oil repellant) on the worktop since the surface does not require additional coatings or protective sealants.
