Commonly called limestone, Pietra Di Cardoso is a natural Soapstone. Quarried in the Apual Alps in the region of Carrara in Italy, it is a metamorphic rock with a medium-toned blue-grey colour with sporadic veining.
It has notable compactness and toughness due to its mineral composition. Some sources cite it as Pietra, a sandstone comprising fragments of granite particles.
