What is Compac Unique Pietra?
Compac Unique Pietra is a composite stone comprising a minimum of 93% pure quartz, marble, and other natural materials. Its manufacturing includes a patented process that combines these materials under high pressure and heat. The result is a more resilient and durable product than natural stone, yet it has the same beauty and aesthetic appeal.
Creating Compac Unique Pietra begins with selecting the highest quality raw materials. Compac Quartz then cuts them into small pieces and combines them in the correct proportions. Next, the manufacturer places the mixture in a mould through a machine that subjects it to extreme pressure and heat.
Once the stone is at a cool temperature, the manufacturer cuts them into slabs of the desired thickness. They then polish the slabs to create a smooth, shiny surface. Finally, the company sucks out the air particles to protect the stone from stains and fading. This process is known as Vibro-compression and results in an ultracompact, non-porous surface with high resistance to stains, scratches and etching.

The main difference between these two stones is that Pietra Grey marble is a natural stone, and Compac Unique Pietra is engineered.
Pietra Grey marble has a porosity of 0.3%, which makes it porous, and Compac Unique Pietra offers a 0.07% absorption rate, resulting in a non-porous surface. Similarly, Pietra Grey marble requires sealants to protect it from staining every two years. In contrast, Unique Pietra is a quartz product that does not require additional surface protection.
Finally, because Unique Pietra is a quartz surface, acids cannot affect it and etch its surfaces as they can to marble stones such as Pietra Grey.
