It is indistinguishable from traditional quartz surfaces. The surface is a manufactured stone, so it has an exceptionally high resistance to scratches and stains.
This white marble with grey veins can be used in vertical and horizontal applications, such as kitchen and bathroom worktops, upstands, backsplashes, and walls. In addition, this new product from Compac has a lot of potential for those looking to have the most sustainable homes and a new way to live!
What is Compac Obsidiana?
Obsidiana takes its name from the natural process of molten lava becoming natural glass over millennia. Compac, The Surfaces Company, applies a proprietary process that synthesises the glass-forming process into hours, resulting in sustainable quartz slabs using up to 98% rainwater and no respirable silica. In addition, Obsidiana worktops are available in various textures to suit your taste and application, from natural stone to the latest fashion colours.
The result is the most environmentally friendly quartz worktop, offering all the benefits of natural stone at a fraction of the environmental impact. Compac has been manufacturing quartz surfaces since 1975 and is a crucial European Ceramic Tile Association member. The company was born in Gandia but now produces its quartz and glass products at a factory in Portugal.
Why Compac Volcano Light?
Because it can be used just like standard quartz worktops and is the lightest colour in the collection, it impeccably resembles White Carrara marble despite being a type of volcanic glass for various applications. Compac Obsidiana Volcano Light can reproduce white marble authentically without losing its superior performance. Similarly, it can produce other materials, including granite and concrete.
This glassy quartz worktop material has unique properties that make it ideal for specific uses. For example, it is powerful, and you can use it to create extensible wall cladding. It is also heat resistant; you can use it in various kitchen and culinary applications.
While Compac Obsidiana quartz and glass are the most prevalent in residential settings, they are also becoming increasingly popular in bars, restaurants, and other commercial designs. In addition, its unique appearance makes it highly sought after by architects, interior designers, and those who appreciate its beauty.
A Compac Volcano Light Worktop helps homeowners keep kitchens and bathrooms safe & recyclable
This white-veined sustainable worktop, prevalent in this new Obsidiana COMPAC, applies the Ethical Beauty principle across the Volcano Collection. In detail, there are four main principles:
- RECYCLE: Find new uses for everything we have.
- REUSE: The use up of resources.
- REDUCE: Anything that you can’t use again.
- RECONSIDER|: Items that you can’t recycle again.
Enhancing the Aesthetics of Sustainable Worktops
