It recalls and celebrates the industrial glory of Canada’s factories and industrial buildings while introducing a new, more sophisticated, peaceful ambience.
Silestone Corktown Description & Advantages
Cosentino, the company behind Silestone, has named this Loft Series colour Silestone Corktown. Doing so recreates the spirit of Corktown’s concrete buildings and industry into elegant interior spaces with a sleek black concrete worktop material.
Corktown recreates the shading of Detroit’s most famous district to produce the series’ most dramatic worktop colour.
The essence of this black hue with slight brown accents and an ultra-matte texture is refinement.
The result suggests materials that age over time, making it an ideal countertop for elite and serious kitchens where every detail matters. Corktown’s surface’s main characteristics are gold, tobacco brown, timber tones, and crystal.
One of the advantages of installing Corktown over other materials is that it comprises carbon-neutral manufacturing, making it a positive contribution to our natural environment. In addition, Silestone Loft Corktown includes HybriQ technology and is recycled, completely recyclable, and biodegradable.
Silestone Loft Corktown: Eco-Friendly Concrete Looks
The Worktop Library provides Loft by Silestone, an eco-friendly quartz manufacturer. It comprises a limited series of quartz colours that will make your home elegant and with an industrialised feel.
We show the first range of stone kitchen worktops with zero emissions and support two programs for seabed conservation and ecosystem replanting.
Silestone Corktown belongs to a new collection of quartz worktops that uses 100% renewable energy and recycled water. It also results in an innovative high-performance combination of quality minerals, quartz, and recycled glass, known as HybriQ and HybriQ+.
- HybriQ uses technology that restricts the crystalline silica content to 50%.
- Silestone HybriQ+: technology limits crystalline silica content to 50% and uses a minimum of 20% recycled material.
Quartz worktops with these technologies result in deeper colour intensity and improved patterns and hues from specific minerals for each quartz stone, allowing you to create original and bespoke living areas.
Corktown Sizes, Thicknesses & Finishes
Choose from 12 mm, 20 mm, and 30 mm thickness options. In addition, the Worktop Library offers this quartz surface in a Jumbo slab of 3250×1590 mm. Thus, you can easily create seamless panels and bigger worktops.
Our expert stonemasons specialise in personalising your Silestone Corktown worktops, flooring, walls, or fittings as you need them. You can even choose from 12 different edge types to design, including pencil edges, chamfer and bevel edges, or intricate edges such as mitred edges, full bull noses, etc., letting you plan the perfect worktop to complement your style.
All of the information in Silestone's Technical Data Sheets results from independent testing by third-party laboratories.
The testing methods comply with EN-15285, EN-15286, ASTM, and ANSI standards. All tests take place at Silestone by Cosentino in Almeria, Spain.

While granite is a natural, porous surface, Silestone Corktown is an engineered surface comprising pure quartz crystals and other raw materials. As such, both make for excellent countertop and surfaces. In addition, both are hard, durable and come with many high-performance features. However, Corktown's non-porosity has an edge in practicality, care, and maintenance.
Cons: the only drawback between Silestone Corktown and natural granite is that quartz is suitable only for interiors, whilst you can use granite outdoors. It is because contained exposure to UV rays impacts its resin and can alter the colour of the surface.
The Worktop Library guarantees only genuine stone surfaces and worktops from the most reputable brands across the UK. You can always confirm your Silestone Corktown’s authenticity by checking for the Silestone logo that marks the underside of your countertop. Simple!
Maintaining the Silestone Corktown is effortless. Here are the seven points to keep in mind:
- Keep your worktop as new as day one with water, a mild cleaning agent and a soft cloth.
- Wipe away any spills or stains to maintain the sheen.
- Avoid cleaning with harsh chemicals like bleaches or chemicals.
- Do not use any water repellents or sealants.
- Avoid placing hot utensils on your Silestone surface for a prolonged duration.
- Use hot pads or trivets whenever possible.
- Avoid installing your Silestone Corktown under direct sunlight or outdoors, as it can fade away due to UV radiation.
Apply window cleaning spray or multi-purpose spray on the spot and wipe it away with the soft side of a sponge. If required, repeat this step. Next, rinse the area well with water and pat dry.
Use a moist sponge and washing vinegar. If the marks remain, try diluting limescale cleaner with water. Next, wipe away quickly.
It would be best to never leave limescale remover over 2 minutes on Silestone. If required, repeat the procedure. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.
You should remove this as soon as you can, following three steps:
- First, use a blade or sharp knife held horizontally and acetone.
- Then, follow with ;a scouring pad.-You can use a high-quality silicone remover if you don't have acetone.
- Finally, rinse well with warm water and pat dry.
Yes. Silestone Corktown can withstand temperatures of up to 150C.
However, to prevent heat damage, do not set specific kitchen equipment, such as pans, pots, and other objects that emit heat like Silestone hot pan or a hot pot, immediately onto the surface after use. Instead, use a mat or rack until the tools have cooled. Thermal stress might cause damage.
